Driving Online Growth for Start-Rite

Established for more than 225 years, Start-Rite Shoes have a long heritage in producing fitted shoes for children. They primarily distributed their products by wholesale to department stores and independent shoe shops, but in the last 5 years, volumes have been declining. Therefore, they needed to grow their direct business.

We helped them to set their annual revenue targets through the online channel by delivering customer recruitment and retention plans, and by running all their digital marketing activity through PPC and Facebook advertising. As well as digital display, we delivered efficiencies in each channel and optimised their budget for maximum profitability.

The Results

Improved PPC: For PPC we increased year to date period revenue by more than 28%, year on year, for the same marketing budget. Significantly increasing customer value, and reducing cost.

Holistic digital: Revenue up 37% across digital, with 56% more new customers, and an increase of 36% in customers making a second order.

Improved Lead Gen via FB: We delivered more than 10,000 new customers via Facebook Advertising in the first 12 months of working together – at a historically low cost per sale.

We enabled them to deliver a cost per new customer of under £10 across all channels and kept the online channel profitable during growth, by using efficiencies in paid search.

We developed a plan for the reactivation of their lapsed base, by understanding the child’s present shoe size, and how to target communications.
